Country house complex, South Downs National Park

Country house complex, South Downs National Park

This new build country house is in South Downs National Park. The nine-acre site had previously had a smaller property and various unauthorised commercial enterprises. The client bought the nine-acre site and proposed to demolish existing buildings and replace them with an 11-bed, traditionally styled Georgian house connected to a contemporary pool building, garages, apartments and a three-bed gatekeeper cottage. The 20,000 sq ft complex includes: a home cinema, games room, gym, indoor swimming pool and wine cellar. The scheme was painstakingly detailed and designed to create an elegant and authentic feel, whilst incorporating modern construction methods to produce a luxurious living environment and rapid construction timetable. Further garaging and stable buildings were also approved. Scot was involved from the outset of the project, developing a brief with the clients, designing the proposals, taking it through planning, building regulations and detailed design stages including project management and completion on site.

This project was undertaken by PV Projects Limited trading as Pro Vision.
